Ziegfeld theater, NYC

The Insurgent cast walked the blue carpet at Ziegfeld Theater in New York City Monday before the movie hit theaters on March 20th. First and foremost, I’d to thank Lionsgate and ScreenReels for an invitation to join other fans and fan sites on the blue carpet. I was fortunate that I had one of the greatest spots right up front to see their arrivals and sit opposite to big media where Extra, ET, and On Air with Ryan Seacrest held their interviews with the cast.

I was lucky enough that some cast members stopped by and took a selfie with me. Everyone was very delightful and all looked dashing and stunning!

After having a blast on the blue carpet, Lionsgate provided us a bus to the movie screening at the Regal Theater in Times Square. Once I found my seat, I noticed I had been left a shining Insurgent poster laying for me to pick up.

We had a short ride to our destination, Theater 13, where the screening was held. I was escorted to my reserved seat for a fan site in the middle front of the theater. The movie was virtually good and full of action. I couldn’t imagine seeing this in a regular theater. I really enjoyed the cast of Octavia Spencer, Naomi Watts, and Daniel Dae Kim in Insurgent. Of course, Kate Winslet did a marvelous job like always. I laughed every in every scene with Miles Teller, he was such a needed comic relief and definite a scene-stealer.

After less than 2 hours, we wrapped up the film and made our next stop: The after party!

I cabbed out to Gaustavino’s in Midtown East and the entrance already impressed me. You could see simulations of the actors performing scenes in the front leading up to the party.

I was handed a glass of champagne as I entered into the growing crowd, I wondered who was the cause until I saw Ansel Elgort who was standing in front of me taking pictures with other guests.

I made my way to the top floor, while piling the delicious looking food on my plate, there were some girls giggling behind me, it was Shailene Woodley in a white t-shirt and rocking black leather jacket with black plants. She was skipping and dancing to the music with her friend and security who were tailing her and her friend.

I walked past the VIP section to see Theo James, Ashley Judd, Ansel Elgort hanging out. Given that I had very little time to spare since I had work the next day, I left just after the dessert.

The display looked beautiful and I tried a few things before I headed out and ran into (Guess who!?) Ben Harmon (from AHS,) oh I meant, Dylan McDermott and Maggie Q on their out. I chatted a bit with them and of course, some selfies were taken there.

Once I left the party, I immediately felt like I was back to a regular New Yorker… Until next journey…
